Hi friends!
Whether you’re trying to plan a more balanced creative career, make your life’s work feel more healthy, or simply give your side projects a boost, this day-long retreat is full of tools you can start using immediately to support your next steps.
I’ve collected some super helpful maps and ideas over the years. And I asked myself, ‘if I could share as many of the important ones as possible in a single day, what would that look like?’
That’s what this mini retreat is based around. That, and being as cozy as possible by the woodstove while having great conversations with rad friends in a sweet house in the forest.
It’s my sincere hope that this day will change the way you do what you do, so that more of your life is spent on what you love the most, so that you can give your unique gift to the world. Because the world needs it now more than ever!
It’s also my sincere hope that we’ll have lots of delicious snacks, so please consider bringing some of your favorites. I’ve been known to make Turkish food at these things.
What’s included?
the equivalent of 5 weeks of my regular online group course, condensed into one day
your own Creative Mapping workbook designed to be used on an ongoing basis for your current and future projects
access to my online alumni group with free group support calls, resources, and career conversation forums
invitation to spend the whole weekend if you’d like (Friday evening hang out, and Sunday morning processing time, including shared meals, chats by the woodstove, and optional nature walks in our local woods and the Ashokan Reservoir, 5 minutes away).
what I’m hoping you’ll come away with:
a system to diagnose and define what’s not working about your current project(s)
an inventory of your strengths, the sometimes not-so-obvious ‘forms of capital’ that can help you move toward your creative goals
tools to make decisions, small and large, that honor your capacity and quality of life
an overview of how you’re allocating your time, and what is and isn’t working about that
cool ideas and paradigms I wish I’d known about a long time ago
the feeling that comes from being in community with fellow travelers on this weird, glorious road we’ve chosen
for friends, at my home
This mini retreat is the result of more and more friends asking me how/when/where they can dig into creative mapping.
I’ve put most of my concentration this summer/fall into moving into my new tiny house. Now that I’m more settled in, I’ve thought it a good time to offer my first in-person intensive in a long time.
My dear landmates (who live in the main house) offered to let us use their house while they’re away, and so it’s all coming together.
Since this is happening at home, I’m focusing this offering on friends, and friends-of-friends.
So feel free to share with people who you would let sleep on your couch. And if you would like to stay for the whole weekend (Fri and Sat nights), I’m able to host several folks. Let’s make it a slumber party! Let’s cook with each other!
Money Stuff
Also, I should say that the main point of this is to empower as many people in my community as possible to have a healthier and more effective time doing their life-changing work in the world.
So while I’m asking for a financial contribution to go towards materials and my labor, I’ve made this more financially accessible (aka cheaper) than any other retreat or intensive I’ve taught. And I know some of you are traveling from far away and that’s expensive.
Contribute what you can afford, and also, if you can’t afford anything, please still come! Really and truly!
There are 3 sliding scale options:
Option A: $100 is the standard price for this mini retreat
Option B: $175 covers your spot and helps me make this more accessible to others
Option C: $25 covers materials
If none of those options is a good fit for you, I also have limited work-trade opportunities, eg. helping me prepare on Thursday and Friday, help with hosting, airport/train runs, etc.
By the same token, if you are able to financially contribute more than the above options, you can contribute here. Your support will allow me to share this work with more people.
Again, the main thing is that you should come, at any price or none, I’d love to share this with as many friends as possible!
Thanks for considering being part of this!
